What employers want from your CV

Why should I have a CV?

A CV or curriculum vitae allows you to summarise your education, skills and experience and is usually prepared for job applications. A CV is also a marketing tool in which you are marketing yourself! You need to “sell” your skills, abilities, qualifications and experience to employers.

When writing a CV look at it from your employers point of view. Would you stand out against the competition (the other candidates) and would the manager want to talk to you for a possible job? You have to ask yourself these questions when writing your CV.

In this video, Alex Houston, provides you with a guide to writing your CV and covering letter.
